The pool at El Palmital curves across a green lawn, with a shallow, beach-style edge that slopes gently into the water under tall palms. It's heated and open all year, which is exactly what you want from a Gran Canaria winter, and the low white bungalows with their red-tiled roofs sit close around it. Sunprime Atlantic View Suite & Spa

From November to mid-April, the three outdoor pools at Sunprime Atlantic View are heated to around 25°C, and they stay open all year. Together they add up to more than 700 m² of water, at 222, 239 and 289 m², set in a palm garden below the white suite blocks. Some pools have wide walk-in steps, and the Prime Pool Suites open straight onto the water.
