Palms and low white bungalows frame it on every side. A second, 14-metre pool sits in the outdoor Zen Spa, kept at 35°C, with jets and waterfalls.
Around the main pool, hammocks and Balinese beds share the terrace with sun loungers, and a pool bar keeps the drinks close. Aquagym runs at noon on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Club Maspalomas sits in Campo Internacional, a quiet corner of Maspalomas in Gran Canaria's south. Maspalomas beach and the Meloneras promenade are about 2 km away, and a free bus takes guests to the beach several times a day. There's a golf course within 3 km, and an airport shuttle is available for a fee.
The suites are low white bungalows with terraces set around the gardens; some Junior Suites and Double Deluxe rooms add a private garden with a hot tub, and one category has an outdoor bath. Breakfast and dinner are buffets with show cooking at Drago, and Góndola serves Italian à la carte. The gym is open from 07:00 to 21:00, with yoga twice a week.

The pool at El Palmital curves across a green lawn, with a shallow, beach-style edge that slopes gently into the water under tall palms. It's heated and open all year, which is exactly what you want from a Gran Canaria winter, and the low white bungalows with their red-tiled roofs sit close around it. A sunken seating area is set into the grass beside the water.
From November to mid-April, the three outdoor pools at Sunprime Atlantic View are heated to around 25°C, and they stay open all year. Together they add up to more than 700 m² of water, at 222, 239 and 289 m², set in a palm garden below the white suite blocks. Some pools have wide walk-in steps, and the Prime Pool Suites open straight onto the water.
Built into the volcanic cliff at Agaete, the hotel steps down in white terraces to two outdoor pools. The long one runs in front of the room blocks with the Atlantic just past the glass railing; the second, curved pool comes with its own round hot tub. There's a heated pool open all year, so a winter swim is on the cards.
