Tall glass walls frame the main pool at Skamnos, so you swim lengths with pine trees and the Parnassos mountainside just outside. It's an indoor saltwater pool, heated and open all year, under a white timber roof, with lane lines on the tiles, a shallow end and loungers along the windows. A second indoor pool sits alongside.
The wellness area adds a steam room, a hammam, a sauna and a hot tub, with massages and spa packages on the menu. At 1,200 m in the Parnassos ski area, this is a winter pool as much as a summer one, and an easy hour after a day on the slopes. One practical note: pool use comes at an additional charge and runs to set opening times.

The stay
Skamnos stands in the Parnassos ski area at about 1,200 m, and that's the point: this is the mountain, not the village. Arachova is about 12 km away by mountain road, Parnassos Ski Centre is very close and Eptalofos Ski Centre is 10 km off. Delphi is 23 km.
Rooms look out over the Parnassos National Park and the ski centre, and some have a fireplace. There's a bar for taking in the scenery, a snack bar and a fitness centre, plus free parking, ski storage and a ski pass vendor on site.
Worth knowing: children older than 3 are welcome, but there are no cots or extra beds, and pets aren't allowed. Check-in runs from 15:00 to 21:00, so time your drive up accordingly.
