High on a hillside near Kissamos, each of the three white villas here has its own outdoor pool, set into a pale stone deck with a glass balustrade on the open side. From the water you look across green hillsides down to the sea. The pool is fenced and opens for the warm season.
A timber pergola shades the loungers and the outdoor dining table, so long lunches and swims blur together. Pool towels are supplied, and in the evening the underwater lights come on as the hills go dark. It suits a family or a group that wants the pool to themselves, with Falassarna and Balos beaches within driving distance for summer days out.

The stay
Ethereal White Villas is a set of three villas, Aeolos, Zephyros and Avra, on the Gramvousa side of Kissamos in far western Crete. Kissamos port is 6 km away, ancient Falassarna 7 km, and Chania airport 60 km, so you'll want a car: parking on site is free.
Inside, the villas are white and bright, with glass doors onto the terraces, warm wood details and a full kitchen with oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Outside there's a barbecue, a picnic area, a garden and views of both the mountains and the sea.
Children of any age are welcome and cots are free on request. Worth knowing: upper floors are reached by stairs only, check-in runs from 15:00 to 18:00, and pets and parties aren't allowed.
